Chase to Aeroplan +20% ends April 30, here's what to book

Nine days left on the latest Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer bonus. Best uses are Star Alliance business-class redemptions where Aeroplan already prices well.

Chase Ultimate Rewards is running a 20% transfer bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan through April 30, 2026 (our tracked transfer-bonus list, 2026-04-21; The Points Guy's current transfer bonuses page, checked 2026-04-21). Chase UR normally moves to Aeroplan at 1:1, so every 1,000 Chase points you send becomes 1,200 Aeroplan points until the end of the month.

The headline number: a 60,000 Aeroplan business-class one-way to Europe now costs 50,000 Chase UR.

Who this is for

You've been sitting on a Chase UR balance and haven't picked a use for it yet. Or you've already used Aeroplan and want to top up before a booking. Aeroplan prices well on Star Alliance partner awards and doesn't pass fuel surcharges, so a 20% bonus on top of an already-cheap program is worth a move even if you don't have a specific flight picked out. If you're mostly flying oneworld or SkyTeam, the other Chase partners (Virgin Atlantic, Flying Blue, British Airways) fit you better and this bonus doesn't help.

Three redemptions that shine with +20%

All three use Aeroplan's fixed partner award chart (10xTravel's chart guide, checked 2026-04-21), which doesn't apply to Air Canada's own dynamic pricing or to a handful of Select Partners (United, Emirates, Etihad). The point totals below are the saver rate on partner metal like Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, ANA, and EVA.

US East Coast to Europe in business, on Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, or SAS. JFK, EWR, BOS, PHL, IAD, or ORD to LHR, FRA, ZRH, VIE, CPH, or MUC is under 4,000 miles, so it prices at 60,000 Aeroplan one-way at saver. With the bonus that's 50,000 Chase UR. Cash comparable fares are typically $3,500-4,500 for transatlantic business on these carriers, which pencils to roughly 7-9 cents per Chase point.

US to Tokyo in ANA business. SFO, LAX, SEA, IAD, or ORD to Haneda or Narita on ANA metal falls in the 5,001-7,500 mile band at 75,000 Aeroplan one-way partner saver. Bonused, that's 62,500 Chase UR. Revenue business on ANA typically runs $4,500-6,000, so you're at 7-10 cents per Chase point depending on dates. ANA releases partner space from JFK, ORD, and SFO most reliably.

US to Hong Kong or Singapore in business. JFK to HKG is around 8,050 miles, so it crosses into the 7,501-11,000 band at 87,500 Aeroplan one-way partner saver. That's 72,917 Chase UR with the bonus. Star Alliance options on this routing include EVA via Taipei, Singapore via Frankfurt, or Air India direct where available. Cash fares in the $5,000-6,500 range are common.

How to transfer

  1. Log into chase.com and open Ultimate Rewards. Pick your Sapphire or Ink card if you have more than one so Chase routes from the right bucket.
  2. Pick Air Canada Aeroplan from the airline transfer partners list. Enter the exact number of Chase points you want to move (minimum 1,000). Aeroplan will tack on the 20% bonus automatically (Prince of Travel, 2026-04-21).
  3. Confirm. Transfers are typically instant even though Chase's UI lists up to 7 days (Prince of Travel, 2026-04-21). Check your Aeroplan balance within a few minutes.

Watch-outs

Transfers are one-way and non-reversible. Once Chase points become Aeroplan points, you can't get them back. Find real space before you hit transfer.

Aeroplan doesn't pass fuel surcharges on partner awards (Travel-Dealz fuel surcharge list, checked 2026-04-21; Upgraded Points fuel surcharge guide, checked 2026-04-21). That's a common myth worth repeating because many guides still hedge on it. There's a CA$39 partner booking fee on any itinerary that includes a non-Air Canada flight, but no YQ. The one place you do pay fuel surcharges is on Air Canada's own metal, which also uses dynamic pricing and usually costs more points anyway, so it's a two-for-one reason to stick with partner redemptions.

Select Partners skip the fixed chart. United, Emirates, Etihad, Flydubai, Calm Air, Canadian North, PAL, and Bearskin all price dynamically. The numbers above apply to the fixed-chart partners (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, ANA, EVA, Singapore, Turkish, and the rest). Bring up dynamic space on Air Canada's search and you may see 80K-120K for the same European routing.

One-way only. Aeroplan prices every award independently per segment, so book one-ways for flexibility.

Chase Aeroplan cardholders stack. If you hold the Chase Aeroplan card specifically, you get an additional 10% bonus on transfers of 50,000+ UR, for a 1:1.30 effective rate (capped at 25,000 bonus points per year per the card terms) (Doctor of Credit writeup, 2026-04-21). Most Chase UR holders don't have this card, so the 20% is what applies to you.
