Affiliate disclosures
Last updated 2026-05-26.
The short version
Some links on Points Radar are affiliate links. If you click through and complete a qualifying action (booking, applying, signing up), we may earn a small commission. That commission does not change the price you pay, and it does not change which sweet spots we recommend.
What we earn from
We have approved affiliate relationships with a small number of travel-adjacent partners:
- Expedia and Hotels.com for paid hotel and flight comparisons when award space does not open.
- World Nomads and SafetyWing for travel insurance on premium-cabin redemptions worth more than card protection caps cover.
- Wise for foreign-currency transfers and travel debit, where standard cards charge FX fees.
- NordVPN and NordPass for travel essentials on dedicated posts only.
We do not currently have card-application affiliate relationships (Bankrate, CardRatings, or direct issuer programs). When that changes, this page will say so first.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- An affiliate link only appears when the partner is a natural fit for the content. No insurance pitch on a $200 economy redemption, no Hotels.com upsell when the points booking is straightforward.
- Sweet spot rankings are based purely on cents-per-point and redemption value. They are not influenced by which partners pay us best.
- We only feature partners we would personally use. If we wouldn't buy the product ourselves, we don't link to it.
- Every link is tagged
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener"per FTC and search-engine guidance. - When a partner requires specific disclosure language (for example, World Nomads), that exact text appears next to every link.
Where you'll see affiliate links
Currently in three places: in the body of currency guides under /points, in some blog posts (always disclosed at the top of the post), and as a small contextual block inside the sweet-spot drawer on /radar. The radar drawer block only renders on a small number of spots where there's a clear natural fit.
FTC compliance
Per 16 CFR Part 255, we disclose affiliate relationships clearly and near each endorsement. The footer of every page that contains affiliate links carries a disclosure block, and individual links are tagged in HTML so screen readers and search engines can identify them.
