Points and miles, week of June 29
Two major transfer-partner exits closed out June, but generous bonuses on Virgin Atlantic and Accor transfers run into mid-July. Turkish business class to Singapore priced at a strong 2.2 cpp.
Two significant devaluations closed out the month, but the silver lining is a fresh set of transfer bonuses, three of which still run into mid-July. Turkish business class to Singapore priced at a solid 2.2 cents per mile during the week, a route worth watching if you hold Turkish miles.
Devaluations this week
Amex Membership Rewards ended transfers to Etihad Guest effective June 30. This affects members holding American Express cards who were counting Etihad Guest as a flexible redemption option. The transfer window is now closed.
HeyMax devalued Accor Live Limitless transfers from 1:1 to 3:2 effective July 1. That drops the effective value of Max Miles from roughly 3 cents to 2 cents when sent to Accor. The 1:1 window closed with the month.
Transfer bonuses
Three bonuses closed with the month on June 30.
Chase Ultimate Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy offered a 55% bonus through June 30. That bumped the ratio to 1.55:1, a strong multiplier for Marriott transfers while it lasted.
Citi ThankYou Points to Qatar Privilege Club ran a 30% bonus through June 30. At 1.3:1, it was a solid rate for Qatar redemptions.
Rove to Turkish Miles&Smiles closed out a 50% bonus on June 30 that pushed the ratio to 1.5:1, timely given the Turkish business class availability mentioned below.
Three newer bonuses are still live and give you breathing room into mid-July.
Chase Ultimate Rewards to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offers a 30% bonus through July 14, effective ratio 1.3:1. Virgin Atlantic remains a strong redemption target for mixed-cabin routings.
Citi ThankYou Points to Accor Live Limitless has a 50% bonus through July 18. This one is timely given the HeyMax devaluation: you're locking in stronger Accor positioning just as another transfer channel gets less efficient.
Amex Membership Rewards to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offers a 30% bonus through July 31, also effective ratio 1.3:1. This gives you the longest window to move Virgin Atlantic transfers.
Award availability this week
Turkish Miles&Smiles business class from LAX to Singapore opened for July 25 at 275,000 miles, pricing to 2.2 cents per mile against a $6,000 cash fare. That specific seat has since closed, which is how these windows go: they tend to fill within days of being spotted. Check the live availability calendar for what Turkish is showing now.
