How the chart works

Cathay publishes a distance-band award chart with six bands. Cathay-operated awards use one chart; partner (oneworld and non-alliance) awards use a separate chart that runs higher. The 2022 rebrand consolidated 'Asia Miles' and 'Marco Polo Club' into a single 'Cathay' membership; miles are still informally called Asia Miles. The most recent devaluation took effect May 1, 2026, lifting premium economy and business across several distance bands. Band 4 business (the historic 50K sweet spot) is now 63K. A separate oneworld multi-carrier chart prices total trips up to 50,000 miles, capping at 280K for Zone 13 business.

Quirks worth knowing

  • Asia Miles pass through fuel and carrier surcharges on most partners (notably BA and JAL)
  • Separate oneworld multi-carrier chart based on total trip distance up to 50,000 mi
  • Cathay metal carries moderate surcharges; some partners much higher
  • Stopovers allowed on multi-carrier awards but not single-partner
  • Most oneworld partners bookable online; some require phone or email
