What Bilt actually gets you

Bilt Rewards is the only US transferable currency that reaches World of Hyatt + Alaska Atmos Rewards + Emirates Skywards all at 1:1. That combination is structurally unavailable to every other transferable. Chase UR reaches Hyatt but not Alaska or Emirates. Amex MR reaches Emirates only at 5:4, with no Hyatt and no Alaska. Citi TY reaches Cathay/Etihad at 1:1 (and is the only currency that reaches American AAdvantage at all post-2024, since the Bilt-AAdvantage partnership ended 2024-06-24), but Citi has no Hyatt, no Alaska, and Emirates only at 5:4. Capital One reaches Cathay/Etihad at 1:1 but no Hyatt, no Alaska, no American, Emirates only at 4:3. Bilt is the only currency that touches Hyatt + Alaska + Emirates simultaneously on par.

The total partner count is 23: 17 airlines and 6 hotels, with 22 transferring at 1:1 and Accor at 3:2. Some third-party guides cite 25 by including Virgin Red and Spirit; we've deferred both pending US-relevance for Virgin Red and multi-source verification for Spirit (our partner audit, 2026-05-15). The 23 verified is itself the largest partner stack of any US transferable, though Bilt's earning model is the actual differentiator that makes that count usable for renters who aren't paying a premium card's annual fee.

The product context matters. Bilt Card 2.0 launched January 14, 2026 with three cards: Bilt Blue ($0 annual fee), Bilt Obsidian ($95), and Bilt Palladium ($495). The 2.0 reset removed the prior 100,000-points-per-year housing-earning cap, replacing it with an unlock mechanic: to earn Bilt Points on rent or mortgage payments, you either redeem $30 in Bilt Cash per $1,000 in housing spend, or you spend 75% of your housing-payment amount on non-housing purchases in the same month to unlock the full 1.25x housing multiplier (TPG Blue review, Bilt newsroom). The cap is gone in name; what replaced it is an activation requirement that rewards engaged Bilt users rather than passive ones.

Partner Ratio Notes
World of Hyatt 1:1 The single most valuable hotel transfer in US points-and-miles; only Bilt and Chase UR reach it
Marriott Bonvoy 1:1 Plus a 5,000-point bonus on 20K-point transfers (UpgradedPoints)
Hilton Honors 1:1 Hilton points value ~0.4 cpp so the 1:1 ratio is honest rather than generous
IHG One Rewards 1:1 Same chart as Chase IHG transfers
Wyndham Rewards 1:1 7,500-point flat-rate budget properties; 15K for Vacasa entire-home rentals
Accor Live Limitless 3:2 Better than Citi or Cap One's 2:1 Accor ratio; only Bilt offers Accor at 3:2

List verified against Upgraded Points, 2026, The Points Guy Bilt guide, NerdWallet, and our internal Bilt partner audit (commit 158726a, 2026-05-15). Two partners listed in some sources (Virgin Red, Spirit) aren't surfaced in the Points Radar calculator. Virgin Red is UK-centric with no clear US sweet-spot value; Spirit is single-source unverified and we want a second source before adding (our partner audit, 2026-05-15).

Top redemptions, sorted by value per point

How to actually use Bilt

  1. Hyatt is the highest-value single transfer on Bilt. Category 1-4 Hyatt redemptions (3,500-15,000 points) routinely clear 2-3 cents per Bilt point, well above the ~1 cpp travel-portal floor. Hyatt at 1:1 is available from only two currencies (Chase UR + Bilt), and Bilt is the path renters get to first. If you're holding Bilt and have any hotel award you're considering, check Hyatt before any other transfer.
  2. Alaska Atmos at 1:1 is uniquely Bilt. Alaska's Atmos Rewards (the renamed post-Hawaiian-merger program) is reachable only via Bilt among transferables. That matters most for Hawaii interisland (the 4,500-point Atmos award, our Hawaii interisland sweet spot is the closest direct comparison) and for partner redemptions on JAL, BA, and Cathay where Alaska's distance-based chart sometimes beats the partner's own chart.
  3. Use the partner-airline workaround for AAdvantage. Bilt does not transfer to American Airlines directly (the partnership ended 2024-06-24 per TPG). For AAdvantage redemptions specifically, Citi TY is the only transferable path. For oneworld redemptions that are American partners (Cathay, JAL, BA, Iberia, Qatar, Finnair) and that you'd otherwise book on AAdvantage, Bilt reaches all of them directly at 1:1, so you can often route around the AAdvantage chart entirely.
  4. Emirates at 1:1 is the best ratio across all US transferables. Amex MR is 5:4, Citi TY is 5:4, Capital One is 4:3. Bilt holds the line at 1:1. If you're booking Emirates Skywards from any redemption (our Emirates First JFK-DXB sweet spot sits at 163,500 Skywards one-way per the distance-based fixed chart), source the transfer from Bilt over any premium-fee currency. The savings compound: 163,500 Bilt for what costs 218,000 from Cap One (at 4:3) or 204,375 from Amex or Citi (at 5:4).
  5. Confirm availability before you transfer. Same rule as the other currencies: transfers are permanent. Use the radar or seats.aero to verify space, then move. Most airline transfers post instantly to 24 hours; hotel transfers (Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG) post in 1-2 business days.
  6. Earn aggressively on Bilt Day. Bilt's "Bilt Day" on the 1st of each month historically grants 2x points on dining (and occasionally other categories), making it the highest-leverage earning day for cards with otherwise modest non-housing multipliers. Schedule the dining you'd do anyway around the 1st.

What Bilt does not transfer to

Bilt's gaps are smaller than every other transferable's, but they exist:

  • American AAdvantage (as of 2024-06-24). Bilt and American ended their transfer partnership (TPG coverage). Citi TY is now the only US transferable that reaches AAdvantage directly. The Bilt workaround is to route the same oneworld redemptions through partners Bilt still reaches at 1:1 (BA, Iberia, JAL, Qatar, Cathay, Finnair) and use their charts instead.
  • Direct airline programs not on the partner list. Delta SkyMiles, JetBlue TrueBlue (despite all the other carriers), Frontier, and Allegiant aren't Bilt partners. For Delta in particular, Amex MR is the only transferable that reaches it.
  • Choice Privileges and Preferred Hotels / I Prefer. Cap One and Citi reach Choice + I Prefer (both added to the calculator 2026-05-17). Bilt does not. For Preferred Hotels redemptions specifically, the workaround is to hold Cap One alongside Bilt.
  • Aeromexico Rewards. SkyTeam coverage via Bilt routes through Flying Blue rather than direct Aeromexico. Cap One and Citi reach Aeromexico directly.

Cross-referenced against every transferable currency's partner list on 2026-05-17. Where Bilt has gaps, Capital One, Citi TY, and Chase UR fill them. The reverse is also true: Bilt is the only currency that fills the Hyatt + Alaska + Emirates-1:1 trifecta for every other transferable's reader.

What can go wrong

  • The housing-earning unlock mechanic catches new Bilt 2.0 users off-guard. Pre-2026-01-14, Bilt earned 1x on rent up to 100K/year automatically. Post-launch, you have to either burn Bilt Cash on the housing conversion ($30 per $1,000 in rent) or spend 75% of your housing payment amount on non-housing purchases in the same month to unlock the full 1.25x multiplier (TPG Bilt Blue review). The cap removal is real but it isn't passive earning anymore.
  • Bilt Cash dilution is real. The 4% Bilt Cash on everyday spend looks great but Bilt Cash is convertible back to Bilt Points at $30 per 1,000 points (a 3 cpp conversion cost when chasing housing points). For Bilt Points specifically (the transferable currency this page is about), pure Bilt Points earning on dining (3x on Obsidian) is more efficient.
  • Two partner-list footnotes worth knowing. Atmos Rewards is the post-Hawaiian-merger combined program (Alaska-side miles consolidated with Hawaiian-side miles 2025). Marriott's 1:1 transfer plus the 5,000-bonus-on-20K mechanic only triggers on full-batch transfers, not partial. Neither is a problem; both are nuances worth knowing before you transfer.
  • No active Bilt transfer bonuses right now (our live transfer-bonus tracker, 2026-05-17). Bilt runs bonuses periodically but they're less frequent than Amex or Chase. Don't sit on time-sensitive transfers waiting for one.
  • High-cash-value redemptions still need trip protection. A 163,500-Bilt Emirates First-to-Dubai booking represents real cash equivalent at retail. For trips at that scale, trip insurance via World Nomads We receive a fee when you get a quote from World Nomads using this link. We do not represent World Nomads. This is not a recommendation to buy travel insurance. is worth considering. Single-trip policies cover medical evacuation, trip interruption, and cancellation gaps that credit card travel coverage often misses, especially on the long-haul international itineraries Bilt's strongest partner ratios point toward.
  • Paid hotel alternatives. Even with Bilt's 6 hotel partners covering Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, and Accor, there are bookings where the cash price beats the points value. For one-off stays at smaller boutiques or in markets where loyalty-program inventory is thin, comparing cash rates at Hotels.com is the path of least resistance.

May 2026 firsthand

Zero active Bilt transfer bonuses as of 2026-05-17 (our live transfer-bonus tracker). The Bilt Card 2.0 launch on 2026-01-14 is now four months in, which is enough runway to evaluate the housing-earning unlock mechanic in practice. The conversation in the points-and-miles community has settled into two camps: passive renters who feel the friction added by the unlock requirement, and active credit-card-users who already meet the 75% non-housing threshold organically and benefit from the cap removal. Whether the redesign nets positive long-term depends on which camp you're in.

The bigger structural opportunity is the Etihad-via-Amex cutoff on June 30, 2026 (Frequent Miler dated cutoff; The Points Guy). After that date, only Bilt, Capital One, and Citi reach Etihad Guest. Among the three, Bilt is the no-annual-fee option, which makes growing a Bilt balance the lowest-cost positioning for inheriting the post-cutoff Etihad demand that's currently MR-funded.

The other quiet differentiator: Bilt's Emirates 1:1 stays the best Emirates path among all five transferables, regardless of what Amex, Citi, or Cap One do with their ratios going forward. That's structural rather than promotional. Bilt has held the 1:1 ratio across every Emirates devaluation cycle that's hit the other three issuers.

Common questions

Does Bilt Rewards transfer to American AAdvantage?
No, not anymore. The Bilt-AAdvantage partnership ended 2024-06-24. American AAdvantage is currently reachable only from Citi ThankYou among major US transferable currencies (the Citi-AAdvantage partnership launched 2025-07-27). If American AAdvantage is central to your stack, Citi Strata Premier or Elite is the relevant earning card.
Does Bilt Rewards transfer to Hyatt?
Yes, at 1:1. Bilt is one of two US transferable currencies that reach World of Hyatt, alongside Chase Ultimate Rewards. The combination of Hyatt at par plus Alaska Atmos Rewards at par plus Emirates Skywards at par is structurally unique to Bilt; no other US transferable hits that trio at 1:1.
Does Bilt Rewards transfer to Alaska Mileage Plan?
Yes, at 1:1 to Alaska Atmos Rewards. Bilt is the only US transferable currency that partners with Alaska. Alaska's chart includes some of the best partner-saver redemptions left in the market (Cathay First, JAL premium, American AAdvantage routings via the Alaska award table).
Which airlines partner with Bilt Rewards?
Bilt Rewards' airline partners include United MileagePlus, Alaska Atmos Rewards, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Executive Club, Aer Lingus AerClub, Iberia Plus, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Avianca LifeMiles, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Southwest Rapid Rewards, TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go, and Turkish Miles&Smiles. Most transfer at 1:1; the verified partner audit count is 17 airlines plus 6 hotels (23 total).
What changed with Bilt Card 2.0?
Bilt Card 2.0 launched 2026-01-14 with three cards: Bilt Blue ($0 annual fee), Bilt Obsidian ($95), and Bilt Palladium ($495). The reset removed the prior 100,000-points-per-year housing-earning cap, replacing it with an unlock mechanic: to earn Bilt Points on rent or mortgage payments, either redeem $30 in Bilt Cash per $1,000 in housing spend, or spend 75% of your housing-payment amount on non-housing purchases in the same month. The cap is gone in name; what replaced it rewards engaged Bilt users rather than passive ones.
