Citi ended its Aeromexico Rewards transfer relationship on January 25, 2026, removing a partner that had been on the Citi ThankYou roster for years.

What still works

Aeromexico itself is still a useful program. It just isn't reachable from Citi anymore. The remaining US-card paths into Aeromexico Rewards:

  • American Express MR → Aeromexico: 5:8 ratio (1,000 MR = 1,600 Aeromexico). Unusually generous, unchanged.
  • Capital One Miles → Aeromexico: 1:1, unchanged.

Amex MR's 5:8 ratio in particular is one of the better US transferable-to-airline bonuses available; if you hold MR and want Aeromexico miles, that's now the primary path.

Why Aeromexico still matters

Aeromexico Rewards (formerly Club Premier) is the cheapest published chart for several Delta SkyTeam routings, particularly:

  • Delta partner premium cabins to Europe
  • KLM and Air France within Europe and to South America
  • Korean Air to Asia (post-Korean-Asiana merger this gets more interesting)

If you're a Citi-only cardholder, you've lost access to those redemptions. If you also carry Amex MR or Cap One, the program is unchanged for you.

What to do

  1. If you had a planned Citi → Aeromexico transfer, it's already too late. Citi accounts with Aeromexico no longer connect.
  2. If you hold both Citi and Amex MR, route Aeromexico bookings through Amex going forward and take advantage of the 5:8 ratio.
  3. No action needed if you don't book Aeromexico awards. The eight remaining Citi airline partners cover most other use cases.
